I cannot install the latest version of Irfanview because I think it is not compatible with Windows 10. This error will also occur if you are using an old installer for Irfanview to try to install on a newer version of Windows; or if you are trying to install an older version of Image Studio on a new release of Windows. Since Image Studio 9.0 is the latest available release, please download it from our website at http://www.irfanview.com/downloads/. If you have already installed Image Studio 9, then there's no need to worry about upgrading. Complete the steps listed on the following page. Files are required for both computers that are attempting to install Irfanview, so if you're on a computer that is not the one attempting to install, be sure to download them for this computer as well. Setup will run on both computers and will try to download the files needed for image editing. On this screen, check "Type in your password if requested" and click "Next." A new window will open with only "users" selected at the top. Click "Change..." under "Users..." and fill in your account info for Image Studio. Once you're all set, click "Next." In the confirmation window, click "Install" and wait for it to finish. You may be prompted to restart your computer or cancel installation. If you are prompted, just do as requested. Windows 10 is currently in beta, so there are issues with installing various versions of Irfanview. As of the date of this article, the following versions are known to not install on Windows 10: 3.80, 9.22, 9.31, 9.32(x64), 9.33(x64), 9.51(x64), 9.52(x64), 9.61(x64).
